There are many different ways people choose to support their wellbeing.
Some prefer hands-on therapies. Others focus on exercise, nutrition, relaxation or recovery. And increasingly, people are becoming interested in light-based and frequency-based wellness technologies.
One range that has attracted a great deal of interest is LifeWave phototherapy patches.
At Prestige Wellbeing in Bradford, LifeWave patches form part of the wider holistic and complementary approach I offer alongside Body Alignment and Frequency Wellness.
Rather than treating every person in exactly the same way, I believe different people may be looking for support in different areas – whether that is general wellbeing, relaxation, physical performance, recovery or simply feeling more balanced.
LifeWave offers a number of different patches, each designed around a particular wellness focus. In this article, I want to explain six of the main patches I work with:
- LifeWave X39
- LifeWave X49
- Y-Age Glutathione
- Y-Age Aeon
- IceWave
- Energy Enhancer
What are LifeWave patches?
LifeWave describes its patches as a patented form of phototherapy.
Unlike a medicated patch, the patches are non-transdermal, meaning they are not designed to deliver drugs or active substances through the skin.
Instead, LifeWave says the patches are designed to interact with light reflected from the body.
The company positions this technology as a drug-free and stimulant-free approach to general wellness.
For people who are interested in energy-based, light-based or complementary wellness approaches, that makes LifeWave quite different from many conventional products.
LifeWave X39
X39 is probably the best-known LifeWave patch.
LifeWave describes X39 as a general wellness patch designed to support the body’s natural energy flow.
- General wellbeing
- Energy
- Exercise performance
- Strength and stamina
- Supporting an active lifestyle
One reason X39 has become so widely discussed is that it is intended as a broad everyday wellness patch rather than one designed only for a single purpose.
For somebody exploring LifeWave for the first time, X39 is often one of the products they hear about first.
LifeWave X49
X49 is positioned slightly differently.
LifeWave describes X49 around performance, strength, stamina, recovery and relaxation.
This makes it particularly interesting to people who are physically active or who are focused on maintaining performance and recovery.
X39 and X49 are often discussed together because they have complementary wellness aims.
Broadly speaking, X39 is positioned around overall wellness and energy, whereas X49 has more of a performance and recovery emphasis.
That does not mean one is necessarily better than the other. It depends on the individual and what they are hoping to support as part of their wellbeing routine.
Y-Age Glutathione
Glutathione is a substance naturally produced by the body and is widely known for its role in the body’s antioxidant systems.
LifeWave’s Y-Age Glutathione patch is part of its Y-Age range.
- General wellness
- Relaxation and stress management
- Supporting the appearance of the skin
Importantly, the patch itself is not simply a glutathione supplement stuck onto the skin.
It is a non-transdermal phototherapy patch, so LifeWave’s concept is different from swallowing or absorbing glutathione directly.
For people already interested in holistic wellness and antioxidant-related wellbeing, the Glutathione patch is one of the LifeWave products that often creates curiosity.
Y-Age Aeon
Aeon is one of the patches I find particularly interesting for people whose focus is more around relaxation, stress and tension.
LifeWave currently describes Aeon as helping people relax and better manage or reduce stress.
That makes it quite different in emphasis from X39 and X49.
For many people, wellbeing is not only about physical performance.
Stress, tension, emotional load and the ability to relax can have a significant effect on how somebody feels from day to day.
Aeon fits naturally into that broader wellbeing conversation.
It can therefore be particularly appealing to people who are looking for a gentle, non-drug approach to complement their relaxation and self-care routine.
IceWave
IceWave has traditionally been one of LifeWave’s patches associated with comfort and physical wellbeing.
Unlike patches that are generally placed in standard positions, IceWave uses a two-patch system and can be positioned around different areas of the body according to LifeWave’s placement guidance.
People often become interested in IceWave when they are looking at ways of supporting comfort alongside activity, movement or recovery.
At Prestige Wellbeing, I would always regard a product like IceWave as a wellness tool, not as a substitute for diagnosis or appropriate medical care.
That distinction is important.
There is a difference between supporting someone’s general comfort and claiming to treat the medical cause of pain.
Energy Enhancer
As the name suggests, Energy Enhancer is designed around supporting the body’s natural energy. LifeWave positions the product as part of its general vitality and activity range.
It is another two-patch system and is often of interest to people looking for support around:
- Day-to-day energy
- Activity
- Exercise
- General vitality
Again, the patches do not work like caffeine or conventional stimulants.
That is one reason some people find the concept attractive: they are looking for approaches that fit within a wider wellness routine without relying solely on stimulant-based products.
Which LifeWave patch should I use?
There is no single answer.
The different patches have different wellness focuses.
A simple way of looking at them is:
- X39 – overall wellness, energy and an active lifestyle
- X49 – performance, stamina, recovery and relaxation
- Glutathione – general wellness, skin appearance and relaxation
- Aeon – relaxation, stress and tension
- IceWave – physical comfort and activity support
- Energy Enhancer – vitality and natural energy
People may use one patch or, depending on their goals and LifeWave’s guidance, different patches may sometimes be combined.
The important thing is not simply to use as many products as possible.
It is to understand why you are using them and what you are hoping to support. That is the same philosophy I use throughout my work at Prestige Wellbeing.
How long are LifeWave patches worn?
LifeWave generally advises applying its patches to clean, dry skin and wearing them for up to 12 hours before discarding them.
Placement and frequency of use vary depending on the particular patch.
For example, LifeWave currently advises Aeon and Y-Age Glutathione users to rotate recommended placement points and commonly use them five to seven days per week.
The correct placement matters, particularly with two-patch systems such as IceWave and Energy Enhancer.
I therefore recommend following the official placement instructions rather than simply putting patches wherever feels convenient.
Do LifeWave patches contain drugs?
No.
LifeWave describes its phototherapy patches as non-transdermal and states that products such as X39 and Aeon contain no drugs or stimulants.
This is an important distinction because people sometimes assume that the patches work by releasing a substance into the body in the way that a nicotine or hormone patch might.
That is not how LifeWave describes its technology.
Why LifeWave fits with Prestige Wellbeing?
My work at Prestige Wellbeing has always been based around the idea that wellbeing is bigger than one symptom or one technique.
Someone may come to me thinking purely about discomfort in one area of the body, but there may also be issues around:
- Movement
- Posture
- Muscular tension
- Stress
- Recovery
- Energy
- Lifestyle
- Emotional wellbeing
That is why I work with a range of complementary approaches rather than relying on one method alone.
LifeWave patches fit within that philosophy because they provide another option for people interested in light-based and energy-based wellness.
They can sit alongside Body Alignment, Frequency Wellness, relaxation and other complementary approaches.
Are LifeWave patches a medical treatment?
No.
I think it is important to be very clear about that. LifeWave patches are wellness products.
They should not be used as a substitute for medical diagnosis, prescribed medication or appropriate treatment from a healthcare professional.
I also do not believe any wellness product should be presented as a miracle cure. My philosophy is much simpler.
Explore the tools that are available, understand what they are designed to do, use them responsibly and decide whether they have a place within your own wider wellbeing routine.
